No paid coverage count yet: a registry entry is not evidence that a broker has a working submission path. Coverage will be stated after the seed and request workflow are validated.
Planned opt-out workflow
Opt-out method varies by broker. Before launch, we need to record for each broker:
- Whether they accept requests from an authorized agent
- The required method (email, web form, phone, or mail)
- What they require (email confirmation, phone verification, ID)
- Their stated response time
- How often they tend to re-list information
Submission, tracking, and reporting are planned features and are not available yet.
California residents
California runs DROP (Delete Request and Opt-out Platform), a free service that sends one
deletion request to every data broker registered in California. If you are a California resident, we encourage
you to use it. DataShield does not yet offer paid submission or follow-up.
What we don't do
- We don't scrape to find new people or data.
- We don't store ID images.
- We don't send your personal information to analytics or advertising services.
- We don't guarantee removal from any specific broker — brokers control their own response times.
